Energy Harvesting at Glastonbury Festival

Every year, Orange, the UK mobile phone network, come up with a "festival concept" for Glastonbury. This year, its all about piezoelectric energy harvesting in t-shirts!

An A4 piece of piezoelectric film is placed on a t-shirt, along with a battery.....The team behind the concept have predicted sound levels of around 80dB at this year's Glastonbury festival. It is hoped that this will translate to 6W of power over the weekend - enough to charge one smartphone.
